化粧品表示はただの意匠ではなく「法令事項」です。

化粧品の容器や外箱に記載する表示内容は、「化粧品の表示に関する公正競争規約施行規則」および薬機法に基づき、表示すべき事項や表現方法が細かく定められています。

表示ミスは、ブランドの信用問題に直結します。開発において表示内容の決定は非常に重要な工程です。

表示が義務付けられている主な項目

化粧品には、以下の表示が必要です。

① 販売名

② 種類別名称

③ 製造販売業者の氏名または名称・住所

④ お問い合わせ先

⑤ 内容量

⑥ 全成分表示

⑦ 製造番号または製造記号

⑧ 使用上又は保管上の注意

⑨ リサイクル表示

⑩ 原産国

記載順・文字サイズ・視認性・表現方法までルールがあります。

また3年以上品質が安定しない化粧品は消費期限の記載も必要です。

よくある表示トラブル

OEMの現場で実際に起こりやすいのは、次のようなケースです。

・成分名の表記ミス

・キャリーオーバー成分の誤解

・効果効能の薬機法NG表現

・ロット番号漏れ

パッケージの設計について

表示設計は、処方・容器・販路と密接に関係しています。

たとえば、

① 遮光性が必要な成分を透明容器に入れる

② 精油を使用しているのに適切な注意表示がない

③ 外箱に記載すべき事項が容器に収まらない

こうした問題は、企画初期段階での設計不足から生じます。

表示は「最後に入れるもの」ではありません。

開発の初期段階から表示に差し支えないか考慮しながら進めてください。

Cosmetic Labeling Is Not “Design” — It Is a Legal Requirement

The information printed on cosmetic containers and outer boxes is not merely part of package design. In Japan, labeling is strictly regulated under the Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Products Including Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices (PMD Act) and the Fair Competition Code for the Labeling of Cosmetics. Mandatory Labeling Items

Cosmetics in Japan are required to display specific information, including:

Product name (sales name)
Product category
Name and address of the Marketing Authorization Holder
Contact information
Net content
Full ingredient list
Lot number or manufacturing code
Precautions for use and storage
Recycling marks
Country of origin

If product stability cannot be guaranteed for more than three years, an expiration date must also be indicated.

These are not simply items to “add at the end.” There are detailed rules regarding order, font size, visibility, and wording.
